HOW TO GET
In the middle of Crete, the largest island of Greece, is where Convention Center Mikis Theodorakis is located.
There are many ways to reach Crete island and Convention Center Mikis Theodorakis, all of them provide an easy access to you and your delegates. One way is to fly to Athens, (served by international flights) and then fly to Crete or during the summer with charter flights from Europe directly to Crete. Another way is to arrive in Greece by ferry from Brindisi, Ancona, Bari or Venice in Italy and from there travel to Crete either by airplane or by boat.
ARRIVING BY AIR
One way to reach Crete island is to fly to Athens, (served by international flights) and then fly to Crete or during the summer with charter flights from Europe directly to Crete. You can easily reach the Convention Center Mikis Theodorakis from there, by hiring a taxi, from the taxi station located just outside the airport. You can also take the public bus to Hersonissos/ Agios Nikolaos from the bus station, which is also located just outside the airport.
ARRIVING BY SEA
Another way is to arrive in Greece by ferry from Brindisi, Ancona, Bari or Venice in Italy and from there travel to Crete either by airplane or by boat.
By boat, ferries to Crete depart from Piraeus harbour (main port of Athens), but there are also departures from Thessaloniki, Rhodes, Kalamata, Gythio, and some from the Cyclades islands and Kythira. Please note that from November to April ferry schedules are decreased.
To arrive in Crete by boat you can reach one of the six ports which are located at Heraklion, Chania, Rethymno, Ag. Nikolaos, Sitia and Kastelli-Kissamou. Crete connects through these ports with Piraeus, Santorini, Sikinos, Folegandros, Milos, Sifnos, Paros, Naxos, Thessaloniki, Rhodes, Karpathos, Kassos, Karpathos, Antikythira, Kythira and the Peloponnese.
NOTE: Ferry schedules and destinations can change according to the ferry companies and the weather conditions.
ARRIVING BY ROAD
DIRECTIONS FROM HERAKLION AIRPORT TO CONVENTION CENTER MIKIS THEODORAKIS
From the exit of the airport follow the national road with direction to Agios Nikolaos. Go straight ahead for about 20km. Turn right in the exit to Kastelli and then turn left for Hersonissos. Go straight ahead for 2 km and turn right for Hersonissos village (old road). At the time you arrive in Hersonissos (after 2km) you will see at the left side a super market (Lidl). Turn left there and at the first crossroad turn left. Go straight ahead for about 50m and you will see Convention Center Mikis Theodorakis in your right side.
DIRECTIONS FROM HERAKLION PORT TO CONVENTION CENTER MIKIS THEODORAKIS
From the exit of the port turn left in the traffic lights. After 500m turn right and go straight ahead. After 300m turn right to the national road with direction to Agios Nikolaos. Go straight ahead for about 20km. Turn right in the exit to Kastelli and then turn left for Hersonissos. Go straight ahead for 2 km and turn right for Hersonissos village (old road). At the time you arrive in Hersonissos you will see at the left side a super market (Lidl). Turn left there and at the first crossroad turn left. Go straight for about 50m and you will see Convention Center Mikis Theodorakis in your right side.
